cumberland island national seashore
Cumberland Island National Seashore is Georgia's largest and southernmost barrier island. It's only accessible by boat or plane, but it's well worth the visit if you're willing to make the trek.
kingsley plantation
Kingsley Plantation is located on Fort George Island, just a short drive from Seaside Escape. The plantation was operated by Zephaniah Kingsley from 1814 to 1837. It is now owned by the National Park Service and offers daily tours.
jacksonville zoo
Jacksonville Zoo is a great place to take the entire family. They have a special Wild Florida exhibit with 2.5 acres of natural wetlands that is home to the zoo's collection of native animals and plants including alligators, black bears, red wolves, whooping cranes, bald eagles, bobcats, Florida panthers, white-tailed deer and an owl species.
singleton's seafood shack
If you're up for a little adventure, take the St. Johns River Ferry over to Singleton's Seafood Shack in Atlantic Beach. We recommend their minorcan clam chowder!
